Local first
Your projects and models stay on your machine.
Introducing LAILA
Build apps with AI that runs on your computer.
Your code. Your models. Your machine.
Apple Silicon · macOS · Free
Ideas into apps — together!

Your projects and models stay on your machine.
Use local models — and connect cloud models when you need them.
LAILA plans, builds, inspects and improves projects with you.
You decide where and how your AI runs.
The future is local
Today, the most capable coding agents still rely on massive cloud infrastructure. Local models aren’t quite there yet.
But they’re getting better. Fast.
LAILA is built for that transition. Use powerful cloud agents when you need them. Switch to local models when privacy, cost or independence matters.
And as local AI catches up, LAILA is already there.

Local + cloud
Different jobs need different brains. LAILA lets you work with local models on your own hardware and connect cloud agents when you need more capability.
You decide where your AI runs.

Specific providers and model integrations will be listed here once availability is verified.

Available everywhere
Trains enter tunnels. Hotel Wi-Fi disappears. Networks go down.
Your coding partner shouldn’t.
With a local model, LAILA can keep working with you wherever your computer goes.
No cloud.
No connection.
No problem.
Work side by side
Describe what you want. LAILA helps you understand, plan and build it.
From a clear idea to working code.

Select something in your app and tell LAILA what to change.
Point, explain, improve.

Add document reading, vision, speech, languages and other specialist capabilities.
Bring the right tools to every job.

Use local models or connect external cloud models. You’re in control.
One workspace. Your choice of brain.

Local AI manifesto
LAILA is built around user choice.
Local AI when privacy, independence, cost or offline access matters. Cloud AI when additional capability is needed.
The goal isn’t to declare that cloud AI is bad. The goal is to let the user decide.
Built to be open
LAILA is being built as a local-first coding partner — and our goal is for its future to be open too.
We're keeping the repository private while the foundations are still taking shape. Once LAILA reaches the point where we're ready to develop it in the open, the source code will be made publicly available.
Not open source yet.
Built with that future in mind.
